NASCAR’s Xfinity Series is kicking off the Weekend with the Hooters 250 on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The race will run at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
NASCAR will not hold traditional qualifying runs through the Talladega races June 20th and 21st. To cut down on events and attempt to protect health and safety, the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series are using random draws connected to points standings.
The Xfinity Series will use the following process for determining the starting grid for the Hooters 250 on Saturday:
- Positions 1-12: The first 12 NXS Teams based on the Adverse Conditions Line Up Eligibility will be assigned starting positions 1st – 12th using a random draw.
- Positions 13-24: The next 12 NXS Teams based on the Adverse Conditions Line Up eligibility will be assigned starting positions 12th- 24th using a random draw.
- Starting positions 25-36: The next 12 NXS Teams based on the Adverse Conditions Line Up eligibility will be assigned starting positions 25th -36th using a random draw.
- Any vehicles that are eligible for the Event in positions 37th – 40th will be assigned starting positions based on their order of eligibility.
Harrison Burton claimed the pole in the draw and is tied for the sixth best odds (+1000) to win at DraftKings Sportsbook. Noah Gragson joins him on the front row, followed by Ross Chastain and Brandon Jones in the second row. Colin Garrett brings up the rear of the field.
Chase Briscoe (+225) is the Xfinity points leader and is favored to win. He’s trailed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+300), who retired from full-time racing in 2017 but has made spot appearances from time to time since then. He hasn’t been great at Homestead historically, but he’s expected to make a strong run in his 2020 debut.
Here is the complete race order.
Hooter’s 250 starting lineup
|12||Dale Earnhardt, Jr.||8|
|32||Joe Graf, Jr.||8|
