Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig will face off Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET on FS2. Leipzig is toward the top of the table and only trails second place Borussia Dortmund by four points while Hoffenheim sits in ninth place. Neither side has been particularly impressive since the Bundesliga restarted competitive play, but both will be looking to get a good result heading into the weekend.
DraftKings Sportsbook has the odds and betting splits the game ahead of matchday, and we’ve broken down how bettors are playing it.
Leipzig (-245) is naturally favored in this one. It has a top ranked defense that’s given up fewer goals than every team but first place Bayern Munich. It also has star forward Timo Werner, who only trails Robert Lewandowski in goals this term. Werner scored twice in a 3-1 victory against Hoffenheim earlier this season and is likely to come out on top again.
Hoffenheim (+525) has scored seven goals in the five games its played since the Bundesliga resumed play in May, but has also conceded seven. The only top 10 team it’s faced during that span is Hertha, and that match resulted in an 0-3 loss for Hoffenheim. Andrej Kramaric, Christoph Baumgartner, and Robert Skov have been in poor form as of late, and it’ll be tough for them to turn things around against the best team they’ve faced in a while.
Leipzig has 93 percent of the handle centered on the match and the backing of 81 percent of the bettors. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, has a mere 5 percent of the handle. Only 14 percent of bettors are banking on an upset win. Bets on a tie (+420) have just 2 percent of the handle and make up 5 percent of the total bets.
