Two bantamweights will kick off the main card of UFC Fight Night this evening when Jordan Espinosa takes on Mark De La Rosa from the UFC Apex venue is Las Vegas.
DraftKings DFS Values
Jordan Espinosa: $8,500
Mark De La Rosa: $7,700
Espinosa is a -165 favorite on the money line against De La Rosa, who is +132. Espinosa does have nine stoppages in his 14-7 career record, but has lost his last two fights by tapping out in the first round.
De La Rosa is 11-4 and has seven stoppages in his career, but he’s lost three in a row. He’s gone the distance in two of them, but his level of activity isn’t great enough to overcome the penalty in DFS points you get via his style.
Despite both these guys being grappling specialists, they don’t get people on the ground very often either. Espinosa averages 0.79 takedowns per 15 minutes of octagon time, and De La Rosa is 0.66.
In DFS where scoring first-round stoppages trumps all other factors, this fight looks like a nightmare. Not a ton of potential for a knockout, either fighter could win, and it’s very possible they stare at each other in the center of the ring before gently attempting to shoot a leg.
For fantasy purposes, this is one to avoid tonight.
