UPDATE 3:10 p.m.: DraftKings Sportsbook posted their latest fight day betting splits. We’ve seen a rise in the split between Nam and Adashev. The favored Nam has 61 percent of total handle and 63 percent of total bets.
Originally this fight was supposed to be Ryan Benoit vs. Tyson Nam, but Benoit has been replaced by Zarrukh Adashev at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ tonight in Las Vegas.
Nam is 18-11-1 as an MMA pro, and needs this win as he’s dropped his only two career UFC fights. He’s lost on the cards to Sergio Pettis and Kai Kara-France so far, and at 36 years of age a win could very much help keep him on the roster. He likes to fight in the standup, with 10 knockouts but only one career submission win.
Adashev took this fight on four days notice and normally fights at 145 lbs., so he’ll forfeit 20% of his purse for coming in at 138.5 instead of the 136 limit for bantamweight. He’s 3-1 in his MMA career, but has won his last three fights, two by stoppage. He hasn’t fought since a second round TKO over Tevin Dyce in October in Bellator. What we do know is he’s 27, from Brooklyn, apparently has a flexible day job, and must have had a tough weight cut.
Here are the betting odds and bet splits at DraftKings Sportsbook for Tyson Nam vs. Zarrukh Adashev at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ tonight:
Betting splits
Tyson Nam: -125, 58% of handle, 54% of bets
Zarrukh Adashev: +102, 42% of handle, 46% of bets
