The championship odds of the Pacers hasn’t seen any movement since May.

The NBA has finalized a 22-team field that is set to continue playing this season after the COVID-19 pandemic brought the season to a halt, and the Indiana Pacers could benefit from some much-needed rest. They are ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference but have the same record (39-26) as the sixth-seeded Philadelphia 76ers.

Starting point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who leads the Pacers in assists per game (7.1), tore his quad early in March, shortly before the season was postponed on March 11. He announced that he was fully recovered from the injury late in April. That’s good news for an Indiana team that’s sure to have a challenging first-round playoff matchup.

Brogdon isn’t the only Pacer that could’ve benefited from some extra time off, as Victor Oladipo has only played in 13 games this season after suffering a gruesome knee injury in 2018-19. He’s not quite back to the level that made him aa first-time All-Star two seasons ago, but he could use the time leading up the the league’s restart on July 11 to build up strength and confidence.

Domantas Sabonis has emerged as the lone All-Star of Indiana during Oladipo’s absence, but will he get help from others to help Indiana make a push for the championship? Vegas seems to think the rest and recovery won’t make much of a difference.
