UPDATE: Saturday betting splits for Emmett-Burgos
A pair of Top 10-ranked featherweights step in the cage as Josh Emmett faces Shane Burgos at UFC on ESPN 11 this Saturday live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.
Emmett is 35-years-old with an MMA record of 15-2. He’s 6-2 in the UFC where he’s ranked #8 in the featherweight flight, with his last three wins all coming by KO/TKO. He’s a volume puncher on his feet, landing just 36% of his punches thrown, but getting in 3.63 strikes per minute and with knockout ability. He’s not afraid of the mat with two career submissions and 1.5 takedowns per 15 minutes in the octagon as well.
“Hurricane” Burgos lives up to his nickname by the numbers, where averages an astonishing 7.09 strikes per minute landed in the octagon. He’s 13-1 career, 6-1 in the UFC, and has 10 career stoppages. His last win over Makwan Amirkhani with a third-round TKO in November has him as the #10 contender in the division. He also defends 90% of takedown attempts, which is part of the reason the Woodbury, NY enters as a favorite against his higher-ranked opponent.
