Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,600) has been playing on a whole different level as of late and it’s honestly quite mind-boggling. So keep in mind, this is a player who has an overall rating of 74 and an awareness of just 80, ok? Over his last five games, Fitzmagic is averaging 22 DKFP with 10 touchdowns thrown and two interceptions. He’s posted back-to-back games of over 300 yards thrown and was even knocking on the door for his first 400 yard game when he threw for 362. He has a tough secondary to tangle with tonight against the Niners, but man, Fitzmagic has been getting it done as of late.
If you want to go off recent production, we’ve had some surprising names emerge from the Dolphins’ offense. Albert Wilson ($5,600) and Jakeem Grant ($4,800) have been the heroes as of late, even if the overall numbers don’t show it. Wilson is averaging just 10.2 DKFP overall but over his last five games has seen that number at 16. He’s posted back-to-back games with over 100 yards and two touchdowns. Grant, who has the best speed in this game at 96, is averaging 9.7 DKFP overall but 14.2 DKFP over his last five games. He’s scored four touchdowns in that span and is also coming off a 100+ receiving yard game with 119. With how cheap they are, they’re certainly worthy of a look. With the emergence of these guys as of late, it’s dinged the production of DeVante Parker ($9,400), who is listed as the WR1. Parker is still averaging 14.1 DKFP with 3.6 receptions and 11 touchdowns scored, so it’s not as if he’s completely out of the picture, he’s simply pricey. Meanwhile, we have someone like TE1 Mike Gesicki ($7,600) who is seeing 4.3 receptions and 57.7 yards per game at a $1,800 discount.
The Dolphins’ run game has been and continues to be a mess. Kalen Ballage ($6,800) is averaging a putrid 26.3 rushing yards and has eight total receptions through 25 games. You’re much better off going down to the basement in pricing with Patrick Laird ($1,000), who is not just a Twitter hero but is averaging 7 DKFP per game. Averaging over two receptions per game and five touchdowns scored, you can’t go wrong here.

A lot of attention will be on Fitz because of how well he’s played as of late but don’t let that distract you from what Jimmy Garoppolo ($10,800) has done either. He’s averaging 17.3 DKFP with 249 passing yards, 43 touchdowns thrown and only six interceptions over 25 games. You do get a slight downgrade with Jimmy G as he does not use his legs at all and actually has -18 yards on the year. Granted, Fitzpatrick only had 101 yards but he has rushed in the ball three times. Nonetheless, Garoppolo has a good group of weapons at his disposal.
The volume for George Kittle ($9,600) continues to be sky high, as he’s averaging 5.1 receptions and 70.8 yards per game. The problem is, the guy just can’t score anymore. The streak of staying out of the end zone has now extended to 14 straight games, which is baffling. He’s still worth the price of admission due to how many looks he gets, but would it be so much to ask to sprinkle in a couple of touchdowns occasionally? Then we have the slightly more expensive Emmanuel Sanders ($10,000), who has been racking up the yardage and scoring more frequently as of late. Over this last five games, Sanders has scored twice times while averaging 80 yards and 4.6 receptions. I like this spot for him operating out of the slot against the Dolphins. The value plays come after these two guys with Deebo Samuel ($6,200) and Kendrick Bourne ($5,000). Bourne is very boom-or-bust but his 11 touchdowns are hard to ignore at such a cheap price. If he’s not scoring, however, he’s very likely hovering in the low single digits for fantasy output. Samuel does have 10 touchdowns of his own but his $1,200 more expensive. At this current salary, this is the first time we’ve seen him over $6K in four games.
Tevin Coleman ($8,600) continues to be a beast in these simulations, averaging 18 DKFP, which is the highest among all the players in this pool. He’s seeing 82.2 rushing yards and 16.3 receiving yards per game and has scored a total of 20 times. For him to be under $10K is honestly amazing as you consider some of the busts on other teams who are priced that high and not doing half of what Coleman is. I don’t even think about it anymore, Coleman is in my lineup.
This game presents a number of good captain plays that you can make. The quarterbacks are of course a good option but I think we have a lot of lower options to use to help you fill the rest of your lineup in. Tevin Coleman ($12,900) could easily be more expensive so take advantage of the discount while you can. If you want to go cheap, riding the wave of their recent production with Jakeem Grant ($7,200) really gives you the flexibility for the rest of your roster.
Final Score: 49ers 27, Dolphins 21
