The PGA Tour kicks off the 2020 RBC Heritage on June 18th, with Rory McIlroy once again installed as the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. The tournament tees off at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
McIlroy finished 32nd last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, but his six top five finishes to start the season keep him installed as a favorite and getting a decent chunk of the action. As of Tuesday afternoon, he is getting five percent of the handle and four percent of total bets.
We have a broad split of betting on this one. Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Justin Thomas all have six percent of handle, while DeChambeau leads the way with five percent of bets. He missed the cut last year by one stroke, but tied for third two years ago, one shot back of the two playoff participations.
There’s not a ton of 2019 RBC Heritage success in this group of most bet golfers. DeChambeau and Sungjae Im joined DeChambeau in missing the cut, Webb Simpson finished 16th, and Dustin Johnson finished 28th. The remaining golfers did not take part. The year prior, Johnson finished 16th, while the rest other than DeChambeau did not participate.
Here’s the top ten most bet golfers to win the RBC Heritage through Tuesday.
Brooks Koepka (+4500): 6% handle, 4% bets
Bryson DeChambeau (+1400): 6% handle, 5% bets
Justin Thomas (+1600): 6% handle, 4% bets
Webb Simpson (+3000): 5% handle, 4% bets
Rory McIlroy (+1200): 5% handle, 4% bets
Sungjae Im (+3500): 5% handle, 4% bets
Justin Rose (+3000): 5% handle, 4% bets
Hideki Matsuyama (+3000): 5% handle, 3% bets
Rickie Fowler (+6000): 4% handle, 4% bets
Dustin Johnson (+4500): 4% handle, 3% bets
