We take a look at all the odds for each of the Lakers’ hypothetical NBA Finals opponents.

If all goes well, the NBA will return in late July in Orlando, Florida. In that case, the Los Angeles Lakers will enter the restart of the NBA season as betting favorites to win it all. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have worked hard in their first season in L.A. to build toward a championship. DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a Name the Finalists market for each team and their potential NBA Finals matchups. Let’s take a look at all the odds offered for the Lakers.

Lakers vs. Bucks: +310
Lakers vs. Celtics: +1900
Lakers vs. Raptors: +1900
Lakers vs. Sixers: +2500
Lakers vs. Heat: +2700
Lakers vs. Pacers: +8000
Lakers vs. Magic: +25000
Lakers vs. Nets: +25000

So it’s no surprise that the Bucks-Lakers finals has the best odds to be the outcome. Both top teams from each conference who had sort of been on a collision course for the Finals since Day 1. After that, things drop off a bit. This is where we can get some value because I think a lot of things will be different when the NBA starts up again. Who knows what shape each team is in, what type of mindset they have entering Orlando.

There’s a ton of value at +2500 with Lakers-Sixers. Philly isn’t getting nearly as much love as it should be on the books. The Sixers have a stacked roster and a clean slate to work with — if there’s any team that can make a big jump after the break, it’s the 76ers. After that, the matchups become less realistic in my eyes. Lakers-Celtics gets some love for the old rivalry narrative as well.
