There are two games scheduled for Friday to open the 30th gameweek of the English Premier League, including a delectable fixture between Tottenham and Manchester United. We analyze some picks to consider and the reasons for them below.

Forwards

Stud

Harry Kane ($9,200)
Harry Kane is still returning to full fitness after missing a few games due to injury around the time the Premier League was halted. He has proved to be one of the best strikers in England and has added so much impetus to this Tottenham offensive core. He has scored 11 goals this season along with three assists. With five substitutes available, he may be pulled out early though.

Other to consider: Marcus Rashford ($9,000)

Value

Danny Ings ($7,900)
Southampton made a slow start to this Premier League season. Their form was so bad that they even suffered a 9-1 defeat to Leicester earlier in the campaign. They have made a fine recovery since then. Their offensive turnaround has been directed by Danny Ings, who has led Southampton with 15 goals this season.

Midfielders

Stud

Son Heung-Min ($8,800)
Alongside Harry Kane, Son has had an impactful presence in this Spurs outfit. With Kane out, he even led the Spurs offense. He has managed nine goals and seven assists this season, an indicator of his composure in front of goal. He has averaged 15 DKFP per game as well, second-highest among strikers in this slate.

Other to consider: Bruno Fernandes ($9,500)

Value

James Ward-Prowse ($7,300)
James Ward-Prowse won’t score a lot of goals for Southampton but that’s because of his delivery role in this team. He is the playmaker, serving up the right passes to Danny Ings. He has also chipped in with four goals this season. Against struggling Norwich, he could increase on his fantasy average of 12.6 DKFP.

Defenders

Stud

Ryan Bertrand ($5,000)
Ryan Bertrand is a solid presence at the back for Southampton. His team hasn’t been that good defensively but they will fancy their chances against bottom-placed Norwich. He would like to use his height more in the six-yard box offensively. He has managed just one goal this season. Here is a chance to improve on that.

Value

Harry Maguire ($3,500)
Despite being placed fifth in the EPL, Manchester United has a nice blend of offense and defense. They have conceded just 30 goals this season, fourth fewest in the English league. Harry Maguire has averaged 5.7 DKFP per game, with just one goal and one assist this season but that’s only bound to improve.

Goalkeepers

Alex McCarthy ($5,100)

Here is an interesting stat. Norwich and Southampton have conceded the same number of goals this season (52) in 29 games apiece. Yet, Southampton are 14th and Norwich 20th because of the difference in offensive quality. Norwich should struggle to score again, which should give Alex McCarthy a rare clean sheet.

Other to consider: David de Gea ($4,900)
