Tale of the tape for Raquel Pennington vs. Marion Reneau

Update 9:41 p.m.: Raquel Pennington wins by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28). The clinch of Pennington was just too much, and her ability to change levels while on her feet was the difference.

UPDATE: Saturday betting splits for Pennington-Reneau

Two top-ranked bantamweight women square off when Raquel Pennington faces Marion Reneau at UFC on ESPN this Saturday at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas.

Pennington is 10-8, with losses in three of her last four fights, but in her career she has wins over Jessica Andrade, Bethe Correia, and Miesha Tate. She’s 6-5 since joining the UFC but only has four stoppages in her career, and none since September of 2015. She lands 3.42 strikes per minute, as well as 1.16 takedowns per 15 minutes.

At age 42, Reneau is 9-5-1 career and 5-4-1 in the UFC. She’s lost her last two fights by unanimous decision to Cat Zingano and Yana Kunitskaya, and hasn’t been in the octagon since March of 2019. She’ll want to fight on her feet, landing 3.46 strikes per minute, but only attempting 0.35 takedowns per full bout.
