UPDATE: Saturday betting splits for Miller-Roberts
Two lightweights heading in opposite directions do battle this Saturday at UFC Apex when Jim Miller takes on Roosevelt Roberts as part of the main card at UFC on ESPN 11 in Las Vegas.
Miller is 31-14 as an MMA fighter, and might be serving as gatekeeper for his younger opponent in this fight. This will be his 35th fight in the promotion, including his last time out, a unanimous decision loss in February to Scott Holtzman. He’s 20-13 with a no contest in UFC bouts, and has 17 submissions and four knockouts in his career. He’ll want to get this fight on the mat, with 1.69 takedowns per 15 minutes of octagon time in the UFC.
Roberts just beat Brok Weaver with a second-round rear-naked choke three weeks ago, and is 10-1 in MMA and 4-1 in the UFC. He’s not very active with just 2.88 strikes per minute, but can win either in the stand-up or on the mat with three TKO’s and five submissions. He’ll be looking to crack the rankings of the division with a win here, and the 26-year-old appears to have a bright future.
