UPDATE: Saturday betting splits for Casey-Robertson
A ranked women’s flyweight competitor gets right back in the ring just 31 days after her last fight when Cortney Casey takes on Gillian Robertson at UFC on ESPN 11 this Saturday in Las Vegas.
Originally Taila Santos was to be Robertson’s opponent at UFC Saskatoon on this same date, but travel restrictions due to Covid-19 kept that from happening. The promotion kept Robertson on her training schedule, and Casey steps in as the new opponent.
Casey is 9-7 in the UFC, and made Mara Romero Borella tap out to an armbar on May 16th in Jacksonville. She’s 5-6 in the UFC, with three of those wins via stoppage. The Phoenix, Arizona native wants to fight on her feet, as “Cast Iron” lands 4.72 strikes per minute with just 0.34 takedown attempts per 15 minutes in the octagon.
Robertson is from Niagra Falls, Ontario, and is 7-4 career with five submissions and a KO. She’s 4-2 in the UFC but has yet to see the third round in a win or loss, and “The Savage” will look to fight on the mat with 3.44 takedowns averaged per 15 minutes. She throws only 2.18 strikes per minute, and her first-round loss to Maycee Barber in October of last year was the only time she’s been TKO’d in her career.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Cortney Casey vs. Gillian Robertson at UFC on ESPN 11 on June 20th:
Money line odds
Cortney Casey: -106
Gillian Robertson: -118
