One of DraftKings’ EPL Showdown slates on Saturday is Crystal Palace facing a struggling Bournemouth team. Below are some permutations to consider for your roster construction from this slate.
Set your lineups here: EPL Showdown $40K Starting XI [$10K to 1st] (BOU vs CRY)
Jordan Ayew ($15,300)
Quietly and efficiently, Ayew has been Crystal Palace’s leading goal scorer this season, with 8 goals. He has a strong presence in the six-yard box and in the air to intercept deliveries with his head. He is often the solitary striker in Crystal Palace’s formation and he hasn’t let his team down. He also scored the lone goal in Crystal Palace’s previous league game against Watford.
Others to consider: Wilfried Zaha ($16,200)
High-priced flex options
Wilfried Zaha ($10,800)
Zaha is usually employed just behind or to the left of Ayew in this formation. That has worked well because he has the pace along the flanks to drive deliveries into the six-yard box and even take shots if the opportunity presents itself. He has scored just three goals and three assists. He would want to improve on that.
Luka Milivojevic ($9,200)
For Palace, they rely on Milivojevic for accuracy, from midfield and the penalty spot. He has been the designated penalty-taker for Crystal Palace to good effect. With VAR so ubiquitous in soccer now, that could play a big part. He has scored just two goals this season, but against a struggling Bournemouth team, that could increase.
Patrick van Aanholt ($8,600)
Somewhat surprisingly, van Aanholt is averaging close to 10 DKFP (9.1) per game. For a defender, that’s extremely high. He has scored three goals this season. Apart from that, he should have a clean sheet here considering Bournemouth’s apparent struggles.
Others to consider: Joshua King ($9,600).
Value flex options
Callum Wilson ($7,400)
Callum Wilson scored for Bournemouth against the league’s best defense Liverpool in the game just prior to the suspension of the Premier League. Just that fact could have a fantastic impact on his confidence. He has scored 8 goals this season, leading Bournemouth’s offensive production. He also plays as the only striker, which means more chances if his colleagues can find him.
Vicente Guaita ($6,200)
Crystal Palace’s defense hasn’t been too bad this season. They have conceded 32 goals in 29 games this season. For context, that’s just one goal more than Manchester City and Manchester United. Against an injury-ridden Bournemouth team, struggling for momentum, I’d back Crystal Palace and Guaita to keep a clean sheet.
Others to consider: Joel Ward ($5,400).
