Predictions for the finishing order of the 2020 Belmont Stakes for $100,000 prize pool

You can win up to $100,000 from DraftKings by picking the trifecta and some head-to-head winners in the first race of the 2020 Triple Crown.

The Triple Crown returns on tomorrow to Elmont, New York for the 152nd running of the Belmont Stakes, which for the first time becomes the opening race of the Triple Crown.

And you can win with DraftKings free Belmont Stakes pool! $100,000 will be given away for no entry fee, and players will just need to select 10 questions correctly to claim the prize.

The 10 horse field of three-year-olds will post at approximately 5:42 p.m., but the race will be a bit less challenging this year than usual. Normally the last leg of the Triple Crown, usually this is a 1 12 mile race. But for 2020 as the opener they’re only going 1 1/8 mile, or nine furlongs. It should give the speedier horses a bit of an advantage around the big track at Belmont.

And with that, let’s make some pool picks for the 2020 Belmont Stakes:

Which horse will win the Belmont Stakes?

Tap It To Win
Sole Volante
Max Player
Modernist
Farmington Road
ForeLeft
Jungle Runner
Tiz The Law
Dr. Post
Pneumatic

It’s no fun picking the chalk in a horse race, but there’s too much speed here. He’s won four of five career starts, ran an easy 50.42 over half a mile last week, and has already won at this track in the Champagne Stakes. If he gets off well, it could be over early.

Horse to finish in third place?

Tap It To Win
Sole Volante
Max Player
Modernist
Farmington Road
ForeLeft
Jungle Runner
Tiz The Law
Dr. Post
Pneumatic

The 10-hole isn’t where you want to be when the chute opens, but Pneumatic won’t know any better as he’s only run three times and earned two wins. In his only loss at the Matt Winn on May 23, he was winning at the 5/16 pole, but came off the rail and fought to the finish for third.

The rail won’t be a problem here, but the late push can help Pneumatic pay some Show tickets.

Which Horse will have the best finishing position?

Tiz The Law
Sole Volante

Sole is a very good horse, with four wins in six starts including the Tampa Bay Derby. But he’s up against a behemoth in TTL. Has to worry about getting boxed in as well so he’ll need to start strong, but it’s doable. Just ran at Gulfstream on June 10th, so hopefully fatigue isn’t a factor.

Winning Horse O/U Time?

Over 1:47:00
Under 1:47:00

We were all set to go under for the the fastest Belmont time in history as they’re going nine furlongs instead of the usual 12. There’s a lot of speed in this field, and they should push each other early.

One small problem: It’s very likely to pour tomorrow during the race, with possible thundershowers expected. The mud will slow them down, and we’re going over the 1:47 because of it.
