The Minnesota Vikings and Washington will face off in a Madden sim Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Dalvin Cook ($15,300)
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a simulation that could potentially be run oriented. Cook is usually a very safe Captain’s pick as a RB1 who gets almost all the work out of the backfield. These backs are easy to identify and Cook’s price doesn’t scare us in this contest. Between these two teams, we’ll probably want to spend down. Cook has a TD in three straight sims and has scored 13 times in 19 simulations so far.
Paul Richardson Jr. ($8,400)
P-Rich may be the best kept secret in sim land. Or maybe I just don’t do many writeups for Washington Showdown contests. Richardson is coming off 4-144-0 for 21.4 FPTs in his last sim, which was his third game of over 20 FPTs in his past five. So we’ve got a great ceiling play and don’t even need to spend up big, we can make a pretty balanced lineup using Richardson at Captain.
Adam Thielen ($9,200)
As long as Thielen remains, say, below $10,500 in price, I’m going to lock him in somewhere in almost every sim. He’s just too good of a play to ignore. Kirk Cousins is awful in these sims, but the majority of his throws go toward Thielen. This is a matchup in which Cousins — who is in a revenge spot mind you — could flirt with the 300-yard bonus. I don’t think it’s all that crazy. Crazier things have happened in sim land.
Trey Quinn ($4,200)
Another easy play, Quinn in the slot for Washington. He’s coming off a monster game of 6-116-2 for 32.6 FPTs. That came against a tough-ish defense in the Titans. The Vikings actual have one of the better Madden defenses. Still, Quinn gets plenty of targets and his price and floor make him a very viable option.
