NASCAR is headed to the legendary Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, and we’ll kick things off with an Xfinity Series race on Saturday. The Unhinged 300 is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET, and will air on FS1. DraftKings has DFS contests available for the event, and we’re here to break down some ideal picks and sleepers.
Noah Gragson ($9,800)
If you’re going to go big, Gragson can still offer some price value. Chase Briscoe and Harrison Burton are strong options, but also a little pricier. Gragson has eight top ten finishes this season, and since the May restart, has finished top five in five of the six races. Additionally, his last two races he has led 81 and 83 laps, respectively. This marks his third trip to Talladega, and in his first two races he finished 4th and 11th. He’s got the second best odds to win this race and is the highest scoring regular on the Xfinity circuit, offering some value for the sixth best salary.
Chase Briscoe ($10,100)
Much like Gragson, Briscoe is hot right now, with two wins, a second place finish, and five top ten finishes in six races since NASCAR restarted. He’s had less laps led value than Gragson, but has finished strong each week. Additionally, last year he finished fourth at Talladega in the MoneyLion 300.
Justin Haley ($7,400)
Haley claimed the pole thanks to the random draw. That does not guarantee a lot, but there’s a good chance he’ll provide a decent number of laps led in the early going. He’s been very much hit or miss, finishing 6th, 13th, 3rd, 17th, 29th, and 10th in the last six Xfinity Series races since the restart. It could finish poorly, but there’s some value at the price and position.
Gray Gaulding ($6,300)
He’s making his 2020 Xfinity debut, after racing a full season a year ago. He finished second in the MoneyLion 300 at Talladega last year. This is a longer shot pick only in the fact that there just aren’t many data points. If you want to load up on Gragson and Briscoe, Gaulding is cheap with some intriguing upside.
