Madden Stream: 49ers at Chargers

LIVE at 10 p.m. ET

Quarterbacks

Stud

Russell Wilson, SEA at TB ($8,000)

Not only does Wilson average the most DKFP of any QB on this slate, he’s in a very favorable matchup. The Bucs’ top cornerback has a 76 overall rating. Due to Tampa Bay’s weak pass defense and strong run defense, this sets up as a game where we should see Wilson throw the ball more than usual. All of this info makes it tough to see a way he fails in this spot. Wilson has scored at least 19 DKFP in 11 of his past 13 games.

Value

Jameis Winston, TB vs. SEA ($6,200)

By default, I kind of have to list Winston here. We only have two cheap quarterbacks on the slate. Other than Winston, the other choice is Matthew Stafford ($6,600) and he only averages 14.7 DKFP. Winston is scoring 18 DKFP and is $400 cheaper, so it’s not hard to see why he’s the stronger option of the bargain QBs playing tonight.

Running Backs

Stud

Tevin Coleman, SF at LAC ($5,900)

This is another slate where I feel that Coleman is by far the top running back option. It’s hard to think of a reason to not play him when considering the other options we have to choose from tonight. Coleman averages 18.1 DKFP, the most of any running back in our simulations and the next best running back on this slate is averaging 7.2 DKFP. On paper, Coleman is the only guy at this position that I think we can expect any sort of decent production from.

Value

Ronald Jones, TB vs. SEA ($5,000)

Jones has one of the more insane game logs of any player in our Madden simulations. In the Bucs’ past 11 games, he’s only scored double-digit DKFP three times. Two of those times he hit double-digit DKFP, he scored over 27 DKFP. Outside of Coleman, it’s hard to find much to like at this position. At least Jones has shown himself to have a high ceiling and the chance for a big night. That’s more than I can say about the other cheap running back plays.

Wide Receivers

Stud

Davante Adams, GB at DET ($7,800)

Some good news, the wide receiver options are quite a bit better than the running back choices. Starting with Adams, he shouldn’t have much of an issue with Darius Slay and the Lions’ secondary. Adams has a 94 overall rating and Slay, Detroit’s top cornerback, has an 87 overall rating. Adams has 1,931 receiving yards coming into today and I expect he will have eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark by the time this game is over.

Value

Mike Williams, LAC vs. SF ($4,400)

For me, Williams is a primary target every slate the Chargers are on. He averages 17.5 DKFP, making it very apparent that his $4,400 price tag is way too cheap. This is always the case for Williams. He may have struggled in his last game against the Saints, but that game was a massive outlier. Prior to that dud, Williams had scored double-digit DKFP in nine consecutive games. The 49ers do present a tough matchup, but with Richard Sherman likely covering Keenan Allen ($7,500), I expect Williams to get the bulk of the targets in the passing game.

Tight Ends

Stud

George Kittle, SF at LAC ($6,800)

The Chargers have really strong cornerback play. I figure this means the receivers will struggle to get open, leading Jimmy Garoppolo ($6,800) to target his All-Pro tight end early and often over the middle. In normal circumstances, it’s not like Garoppolo is afraid to hone in on his tight end. Kittle has tallied 139 receptions for 1,912 yards in our sims.

Value

Will Dissly, SEA at TB ($4,300)

When your quarterback is Russell Wilson, you are going to have some good games. Often, all Dissly has to do is catch the ball because Wilson is going to throw a bunch of perfect passes. This led to Dissly having some big games in real life and he’s also been solid in Madden, averaging 11.8 DKFP. As of late, Dissly has been super consistent and has scored at least 11 DKFP in six straight games.

Defense/Special Teams

Seahawks DST at TB ($3,500)

Of all the quarterbacks on tonight’s slate, Winston is by far the most mistake prone. He’s tossed 16 simulated interceptions, the most of any QB. That is not just of any QB on this slate, the most of any quarterback from all the teams. In the past eight games, Winston has thrown eight interceptions, so I have to assume the Seahawks’ defense is the unit most likely to force a turnover tonight.
