The Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders will face off in a Madden sim Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Pick
Dak Prescott ($16,800)
I’ve been burnt at time by fading Dak but I think this is a spot we can really lean on him and the Cowboys offense. Prescott has a really great floor given his ability to run the ball and the Raiders defense has some definite holes in it. Prescott will likely be the highest owned — or one of the highest owned — players at Captain, but that’s OK given his ceiling.
Fade of the Game
Derek Carr ($10,800)
While paying up at QB isn’t my favorite strategy, I’m fine doing so for Dak. I’m not fine doing so for Carr, who actually has been pretty impressive in Madden simulations. The matchup is the issue. The Cowboys have a strong secondary and I could see them limiting the amount of scoring opportunities in this one. If that’s the case, Carr may not have enough to reach his ceiling. I’m OK using Carr as a stack option.
Value Picks
Jalen Richard ($2,600) — Richard is always a top value play because his price is almost always way too cheap. Nothing new here, Richard is one of the best values on the board. He splits some carries with Josh Jacobs and is the 3rd-down back, so pretty easy pick here.
Hunter Renfrow ($4,200) — There aren’t many value options on the Cowboys side since they’re pretty top heavy. I think we can fit in a lot of good floor plays on the Raiders. Renfrow, like Richard, has a nice floor for his price. Slot receivers usually bode well in Madden sims.
