The Portland Trail Blazers and Milwaukee Bucks will face off in a sim Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before tip.
Captain’s Pick
Hassan Whiteside ($12,000)
This is usually the sentence in which I emphatically advice you play Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Captain’s spot. Well, things are a little bit different when you add some more interesting players to the pool. The Blazers have some really strong Captain options among their elite players. I like Whiteside the best out of the bunch because of his floor. We don’t need to worry about Whiteside busting, those odds are lower than everyone not named Giannis. The discounted price is key.
Fade of the Game
Donte DiVincenzo ($7,500 CP)
DiVincenzo has been a key component for the Bucks success this season. Problem is his price is pretty high and his fantasy production was always dependent on injuries. So we have a small sample of box scores in which DiVincenzo hits real value. His price is usually a lot lower in Showdown also, so not much to like here.
Value Picks
Gary Trent Jr. ($4,000) — Similar thinking with Trent but he has more box scores than Hood. Really, we’re trying to capture lightning in a bottle with one of Trent’s upside games. If we can get a hit on that, this price is really enticing.
Rodney Hood ($1,600) — It’s going to be hard to find some value on the Bucks since they’re pretty top heavy. So we can look to Portland for value. Hood is a good option given he was starting before he went down with a torn Achilles. His price is really low and there’s a decent chance we get a good box score from one of his starts.
