We break down the top DFS picks for Wednesday’s six-game slate of Madden action below. DraftKings will have its usual all-day classic contest, and here are some studs, value plays, and a defense you should consider. You can set your lineups here.
Quarterback
Stud
Russell Wilson, Seahawks ($8,000) vs. Lions
Wilson has the highest DKFP average (21.3) in the slate. He’s up against what’s arguably the worst pass defense in the field and can launch it deep or take off himself. He’s worth paying up for with this matchup.
Value
Mitchell Trubisky, Cubs ($5,800) vs. Browns
Trubisky is just behind Wilson in terms of production and is up against the lowest scoring defense in the slate. He’s even with Wilson in touchdown passes and has run for one more score (9) than the Seahawks signal caller. I’m sticking with two duel threat options under center.
Running back
Stud
Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($7,000) vs. Titans
Zeke has more rushing yards and scores than any other running back in this slate. He’s a lot more consistent than Christian McCaffrey and offers PPR upside.
Value
Tarik Cohen, Bears ($3,600) vs. Browns
Cohen has more receptions (49) and touchdowns (2) than most starters while playing second fiddle to David Montgomery on the depth chart. A DKFP approaching double-digits for less than $4,000 is always ideal.
Wide receiver
Stud
Odell Beckham Jr., Browns ($7,200) vs. Bears
Beckham can flat out go up and get the ball. His speed, elusiveness, and spectacular catching have helped him tally more touchdowns (19) than any other receiver. He also leads wideouts in receptions (24) and receiving yards (1,886).
Value
DK Metcalf, Seahawks ($4,300) vs. Lions
Metcalf has more receptions and receiving yards than Tyler Lockett and is more than $2,000 cheaper. He’s 95 speed and size makes him a desirable deep threat against Detroit’s weak secondary.
Tight End
Stud
Zach Ertz, Eagles ($5,400) vs. Broncos
Ertz is the most productive tight end in the slate with 15.3 DKFP per game. Denver has a strong pass rush and secondary, but Ertz should be able dominate linebackers when running intermediate routes.
Value
Ben Watson, Patriots ($4,100) vs. Steelers
Watson is still performing like a top-tier tight end for bargain prices. He trails Ertz in production by a narrow margin. He has a couple more catches (143) than Ertz. His frequent targets should make him a priority.
Defense/Special Teams
Panthers D/ST ($2,900) vs. Bills
Josh Allen is essentially the Bills’ entire offense. He’s one of three players that averages more than 11 DKFP per game and will up against the best linebacker in the game in Luke Kuechly. Allen is a mobile quarterback with limited help from receivers, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he fumbled at least once in this one.
