You’ve got to feel good if you’re the defending champions heading into the restart of the NBA season, right? The Toronto Raptors’ season has been viewed as a surprise by many, losing Kawhi Leonard after winning a title yet maintaining a top spot in the East. The Raptors, and 21 other teams around the NBA, will relaunch the season at the end of July, and Toronto has to feel good about its chances of repeating. If they get a shot to defend the title, who’s the most likely matchup? We take a look at some bets on DKSB.
Toronto Raptors NBA Finals matchup odds
Best Favorite Bet: Raptors vs. Clippers (+2000)
I know I’m not the only one who is rooting for a Raptors-Clippers finals. Kawhi Leonard going up against his former team after bringing them glory the previous year would be something. Narrative aside, the Clippers seem to be undervalued coming back. Both the Bucks and Lakers have better title odds. This is weird considering the Clips were favored at the beginning of the season and now the slate is wiped cleaned. The Raptors have what it takes to get out of the East with a healthy roster, so this is the matchup I’d be looking at.
Best Longshot Bet: Raptors vs. Trail Blazers (+50000)
They don’t call ‘em longshots for nothing. The Blazers are my sleeper in this field to make a run. They’ll have essentially the same roster as last year’s run to the Western Conference Finals. Except they’ve added Hassan Whiteside and Carmelo Anthony. Throw in a healthy Jusuf Nurkic and youngsters Gary Trent Jr. and Nassir Little and the Blazers have the depth and punch to make a run. We know Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are both hungry.
