The Green Bay Packers and Washington will face off in a Madden sim Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Aaron Jones ($13,500)
If there’s one thing I know about these Madden simulations, it’s picking the Captain spot, amirite? Sorry for the shameless tout there, let’s get into Jones. Washington doesn’t have a very good defense and Jones has the most upside outside of Davante Adams on the Packers. The thing with Adams is, his price is really high and his ownership should follow suit.
Fade of the Game
Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($9,600 CP)
MVS never really developed into a legit No. 2 WR behind Adams in real life and things don’t really change in sim land. Valdes-Scantling has an OK ceiling by the WR standards but it’s not nearly worth investing in. He’s got more bust potential than boom and I’m not willing to bank on a long TD for MVS. That’s really the only way he’ll return value.
Paul Richardson Jr. ($6,800) — Perfect transition into my favorite value play in all of sim land (well sort of). Richardson has been the WR 1 for Washington in sim land and if his performance on Madden is any indication of things to come, I’d draft him in fantasy football season-long. Richardson is chalk but chalk we are fine eating.
Jamaal Williams ($2,800) — We don’t normally stack backfields in Madden sims but this may be an OK time to do so. I could see both Jones and Williams doing work and returning value in this one. Williams vultures carries from Jones and using both backs gets you 100% of the Packers’ backfield share.
