The Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers will face off in a Madden sim Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
D.J. Moore ($14,400)
There aren’t many good Captain’s options in this contest. Usually we’d have a few in Lamar Jackson and Christian McCaffrey, but unfortunately Jackson is expensive AF and CMC underperforms. I really like using WRs with a high ceiling in this spot and Moore will save us some salary on the two other options.
Fade of the Game
Marquise Brown ($12,000 CP)
Unlike the top two WR options on the Panthers — Moore and Curtis Samuel — Hollywood is pretty overpriced for what he gives us. Overall, he’s too boom or bust for me to trust in this contest and I’d rather spend on Moore and Samuel, or gimme Jackson and/or CMC. There are also a few value WRs we can take a look at. At least Brown isn’t as overpriced as Willie Snead.
Nick Boyle ($1,000) — It’s been a while since we’ve taken a look at a cheap TE flier in these Showdown contests. Boyle is exactly that and while he carries some risk of busting, his price is just way too low for us not to like him. We need to save salary to pay up for Jackson, CMC and Moore. This play — at the very least — will help get us there.
Jarius Wright ($2,000) — It wasn’t too long ago I wrote up the Panthers and was on the Wright train. Nothing changes despite the box scores, so we’re going to pay down for a WR who has a decent floor and should easily return salary value here. The matchup isn’t ideal but neither is this Showdown contest.
