The San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Tevin Coleman ($12,300)

I’ve been talking all day about how WRs and TEs are the best plays in Madden sims, yet am recommending you use RBs in the Captain’s spot. That’s just the way these sims tend to go. This is a great matchup for Coleman, who is among the workhorse backs in Madden. He’s got a really safe floor and has multi-TD upside.

Fade of the Game

Gardner Minshew II ($10,600)

Minshew mania has been pretty solid in sim land. The problem is the 49ers defense. San Fran’s secondary is loaded and the upside for Minshew may be capped a bit. Really the only reason to play Minshew — or Jimmy G for that matter — is to get leverage. The issue is their ownership percentages could be high in this contest.

Value Picks

Raheem Mostert ($3,000) — This one is for all your Glash-heads out there. At some point, Mostert is going to come through for a lineup and this may be the sim for it. The Jags run defense just isn’t what it used to be.

Chris Conley ($2,000) — Despite the tough matchup in the secondary, I’m OK getting some leverage with a pass-catcher on the Jags side. Conley will be a risky play but should go low-owned, which is going to give us an edge in our lineup.
