The Buffalo Bills and Washington will face off in a Madden sim Thursday at 4:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Pick
Paul Richardson Jr. ($9,600)
Richardson gives us the best bang for our buck at Captain. He’s got a volatile list of box scores ranging from 2.2 fantasy points to 48 fantasy points. That’s a pretty wide range of outcomes. This is fine because it’s Madden sims and things that aren’t expected happen all the time. One of those unexpected events could be 20+ fantasy points from P-Rich, who has done so five times in sim land.
Fade at Captain
Josh Allen ($16,200)
Trying to fade somebody in these sim contests is sort of useless. It’s mostly useless because it’s so hard to predict each players outcome. Because we’re masochists over here, we’ll do it anyway! I generally don’t like QBs in these Showdown contests because most of them lack a real ceiling and they’re overpriced and over-owned. Allen is capable of a strong game but as the highest priced player, chances are he’ll be around 15-20% owned at Captain. Washington is where we’d get value.
Bargain Shopping
This is the part of our programming in which we look at some cheap plays to help you save salary! Think of me as a really bad salesman who you feel bad for and decide to buy from anyway. The best car on the lot is Trey Quinn ($4,600). He’s averaging the 4th-highest FPPG among players in this Showdown and is cheaper than all of them. There’s only a 2.8 point difference between Quinn and Allen actually.
Searching around for some other buys we land on another Washington skill position player: Chris Thompson ($1,400). This run game is poor overall but is also more of a time-share. That opens up touches for Thompson, who is a bit underpriced. He’s averaging 6.7 FPPG at $1,400. If he meets expectations, we get nearly 5x value already.
