The New York Giants and New York Jets will face off in a Madden sim Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Picks
Jae Crowder ($10,800)
Welcome back everyone! In this edition of Madden Sim Showdown we have the classic rivalry of Giants vs. Jets. If you’re a return visitor, I don’t need to go over why this is the top Captain’s pick. You’ve seen, you’ve heard, you know. The Giants have a bad secondary and it gets even worse in the slot. Crowder is a slot guy who is cheaper and will probably be underowned at Captain.
Fadeaway
This is in honor of basketball returning. The Captain I’m most likely to fade in this contest. I always say I hate fading because of the volatility but if I had to choose one player it’s .... Sam Darnold ($16,500). Not so surprising really. Darnold throws a lot of INTs in a simulation in which QBs don’t turn the ball over too often. Darnold rarely sniffs 250 passing yards and has thrown for more than two TDs in a game just three times in 20 contests.
Bargain Shopping
There’s always value at WR and luckily we’re blessed with two really great options in Darius Slayton ($5,000) and Demaryius Thomas ($4,600). Slayton has been a high-floor play for the Giants and usually gets 3-5 catches per contest. He’s essentially the WR1 for the Giants but for w/e reason never gets his price adjusted much.
DT is having a Renaissance season with the Jets in sim land. He’s up to 82 receptions for 1,251 yards in 20 sim contests. Unfortunately, he only has one TD to his name so far. That hasn’t stopped him from being consistent, but it does hurt his floor. Lucky for us, his price is below $5K.
