The Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns will face off in a Madden sim Friday at 10:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Jarvis Landry ($10,500)
This is a leverage play in hopes that Landry can break out and post around 18-20 DKFP before the 1.5x bonus. A lot of lineups will be on Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, Odell Beckham Jr., and Davante Adams. If that’s the case, we can maybe sneak Landry in there at sub-10% ownership. The slot man is more of a floor play in the FLEX spot but there’s also appeal with that — a low bust rate.
Remember that Enya song Orinoco Flow? It was the “Sail away, sail away, sail away!” song. This is the play you’re going to want to fade away, fade away, fade away in this contest. I’m going to go with Mayfield since I hate QBs in these sims and I say that way too often now. Mayfield is just really expensive at Captain at $16,500 and $11,000 in the FLEX. He’s failed to reach 20 DKFP in three straight sims and the Packers have a decent defense.
Hey, we’ve got some wide receivers to go over again! No way! So again, two guys who are really cheap: Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($5,400) and Damion Ratley ($4,600). MVS is usually a high risk, high reward type of play. He’s still pretty risky but have a decent ceiling given most of his passes are down field.
Ratley had been a stud early on for the Browns but has since fallen out of grace with Mayfield for some reason. Ratley is coming off his first double-digit DKFP outing in his past six sims. These two aren’t even the best plays! I saved the best for last! Geronimo Allison is another player grossly mispriced. He’s averaging 8.3 DKFP per game and is only $2K. If he hits his average — boom — we’ve at 4x salary value already. Easy math.
