Best lineup strategy for Houston vs. Washington Madden simulation Showdown

The Houston and Washington square off in a Saturday Madden simulation at DraftKings. We break down Showdown strategy to consider.

The Houston Texans and Washington will face off in a Madden sim Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Paul Richardson Jr. ($7,800)

I keep telling everyone that P-Rich is the real deal in sim land. People are finally starting to listen with this price — oh wait no, it’s still ridiculously low. I get that WRs are volatile plays most of the time but Richardson has a legit ceiling and is a legit WR1. If this were a simulation for fantasy football, Richardson would be a top 20 WR. Top 20 WRs don’t get priced this low in real DFS.

WARNING: DO NOT PLAY

Terry McLaurin ($13,800)

Sorry TERRY MCLAURIN NOT SCARRY TERRY. Terry Rozier is Scary Terry, okay. Anyway, not to knock McLaurin again but he’s a bit overrated in Madden sims. He puts up decent numbers but his ceiling is limited. We’ve only seen one game over 20 fantasy points in 20 contests. So McLaurin isn’t really viable in the Captain’s spot. He’s an OK FLEX option but that price is still a little too much at $9,200.

Bargain Shopping

Is it just me or does it feel like the Texans and Washington played each other recently? Forget me ... Okay, there’s some clear value at .... DING DING DING WR!! Trey Quinn ($4,400) COME ON DOOOOWN. Quinn is priced at $4.4K and is averaging almost 14 fantasy points per game. We don’t get that type of engrained value often. Oh wait, yes we do. Keke Coutee ($2,000) YOU’RE UP NEXT!!! Coutee I like to target in almost every Texans sim. He’s averaging almost 8.0 DKFP per game and is $2K, so again, 4x value is the expectation. This is a winnable matchup and ownership should be heavy on Houston’s passing attack.
