The Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Russell Wilson ($16,500)

The Captain’s spot in almost every Seahawks Showdown contest will be reserved for this guy: Russell Wilson. He’s looked pedestrian over the past couple sims but I’ve got a hunch he’s due and the Giants are the perfect matchup. Wilson does so much damage on the ground that everything through the air is honestly a bonus. Wilson’s upside is too high to ignore at Captain. I don’t care about ownership.

Fade ‘Em Away

Golden Tate ($12,300)

Tate is a fine play. Most of the time he ends up returning OK value, so I’m fine with you FLEXing him out. As for Tate in the Captain — No. It’s not happening. Tate only has two games over 20 DKFP in 21 simulations this season. This game could be incredibly high scoring, so Tate has some upside, just not as much as other studs.

Bargain Shopping

Before I get into this, if you’re playing the Classic slate, this game is a perfect stacking option. Two bad secondaries and two QBs who like the sling it and run the ball. Players who may get some of that slingage include Darius Slayton ($5,800), the ever popular value play. We also have great options in Sterling Shepard ($4,800) and even Josh Gordon ($5,200) has some appeal at this price. The Giants get killed in the slot mostly, so Tyler Lockett ($10,200) may be the guy to pay up for with all this saving.
