Captain

Kevin De Bruyne ($16,500)

The eyes of the world are going to be on this game as the top two teams in English soccer face off. There is no better player to grace your roster than one of the best players this season, Kevin De Bruyne. He has scored 10 goals and has also managed 16 assists this season. Not many players in the top flight of this game can boast of that level of production.

Others to consider: Mohamed Salah ($15,600)

High-priced flex options

Mohamed Salah ($10,400)

Salah returned to Liverpool’s line-up in the previous game against Crystal Palace with a sparkling performance. He had missed the preceding game, the Merseyside derby, due to fitness concerns. He quashed all that at Anfield. Salah has scored 17 goals this season, most of which have been laden with quality and unmatched skill. He is a close second to De Bruyne for Captain as well.

Sadio Mane ($9,600)

Mane returned to the scoring sheet against Crystal Palace with a goal in the second half. That took his season tally to 15 goals. He has even added seven assists. However, these are tangible contributions. His intangible value has been significantly more, as manager Jurgen Klopp would attest to, with his seamless transition between offense and defense.

Raheem Sterling ($8,800)

You will be spoiled for choice in this slate. Normally, you would have the freedom to pick both Sterling and Riyad Mahrez ($9,000), but with the quality on show, you will have to look for either. Sterling is in a more central role, while Mahrez plays alongside the flanks. That gives Sterling a higher probability of scoring goals. Also, Sterling is $200 cheaper, which could also prove to be pivotal.

Others to consider: Riyad Mahrez ($9,000).

Value flex options

Trent Alexander-Arnold ($8,200)

Alexander-Arnold’s free kick against Crystal Palace was a sight for sore eyes. Technique, check. Placement, check. Goal, check. That was his third goal this season. He is a dead-ball specialist for Liverpool, which is how he has added 12 assists as well. Liverpool is also the league’s best defensive team, having conceded just 21 goals, fewest in the EPL.

Roberto Firmino ($6,800)

I’m quite surprised Firmino’s price is as low as this. Klopp has played his part in bringing confidence to Firmino’s game. He has scored eight goals this season. From a skill perspective, he is as good as they come in Brazil, with his feet or in the air. Manchester City prefer a fast-paced offense, which could also leave some gaping holes in their defense.

Others to consider: Gabriel Jesus ($8,600)
