The Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys will face off in a Madden simulation Friday at 10 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Todd Gurley, Rams ($12,600)

Gurley has the most upside of any player going into this Showdown of late. He has six touchdowns in his last six games and 35 and 25 DK points games in that stretch. He’s also sixth in salary, giving us a little discount in the lead spot.

Flex options

Greg Zuerlein, Rams ($4,200)

Zurlein has double-digit DK points in four of his last seven games and has a consistent floor. He has no upside compared to other positions, but his price can help us pay up for higher upside players.

Jason Witten, Cowboys ($5,800)

Witten is coming off his highest DK points game of the simulated season with 26.3 DK points. We can’t expect that production again, but he’s shown a decent floor of late, with 10 or more DK points in nine of his last ten games. At his price, he’s locked in for my teams.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($9,600)

Elliott has 30-plus DK points upside but has had three straight down games. His upside is what we’re hoping for of course, and he has 16 games where he’s topped 17 DK points, so around half of his matchups. Those aren’t bad odds.
