Two flyweights in the women’s division face off on the main card of UFC 251 when Paige VanZant takes on Amanda Ribas on “Fight Island” tonight. This isn’t Dancing With The Stars, and VanZant comes in as a massive underdog. Can she find a path to having some value?

DraftKings DFS Values

Amanda Ribas: $9,500
Paige VanZant: $6,700

On what is considered the card of the year, the bettors have this as a beating: Ribas comes in as the biggest favorite available at -770, with VanZant at +500.

Ribas is the most expensive fighter available, but she doesn’t really score DFS points. In her controversial win over Mackenzie Dern, she earned just 77 points while going the distance. She only has one stoppage in the UFC, and the price seems to be on the belief that VanZant has one foot out the door to Entertainment Tonight after this bout ends her contract with the UFC. Ribas is an up-and-coming talent for sure, but she hasn’t scored well.

VanZant is the cheapest play available, and to her credit she’s only been stopped in under three rounds once in her career. If there’s a side here it might be the underdog, who has scored 93 points or more in half of her eight UFC appearances. Having VanZant as a hedge on some of your rosters might be a correct strategy.
