Two bantamweights looking to make an impression in the UFC open the UFC 251 card as Martin Day takes on Davey Grant on Fight Island tonight.

Day lost his only UFC fight so far to Pingyuan Liu in November of 2018 via controversial split decision, and has an 8-3 career record. Injuries forced him to miss further fights, and he’s now looking for his first victory in almost two years. The 31-year-old from Hawai’i has three knockouts and two submission wins on the independent circuit.

Grant is 11-4 career mark, with a 2-3 record in the UFC. The 34-year-old from Bishop Auckland, England has eight submission wins and a KO, and wants to get fights on the mat as much as possible averaging 2.64 takedowns per 15 minutes in the UFC. His last bout was a split decision win over Grigory Popov in November of last year. He’s never been knocked out or lost a decision, as all four of his defeats are via tapping out.
