Raulian Paiva missed weight by three pounds yesterday for his flyweight bout with Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC 251 tonight on “Fight Island.” But it didn’t move the line at all, as it had already slid away from him slightly.

The Brazilian Paiva is 19-3 in MMA, but 1-2 in the UFC after getting his first win over Mark De La Rosa in February via knockout. He has just four KO’s and three submission wins in his career. Landing 4.81 strikes per minute, he’s only successfully completed one takedown in his UFC career, but has also parried 79% of takedown shots attempted.

Zhumagulov makes his UFC debut from the Fight Night Global promotion. His last four fights went the distance, three of them for five rounds, but he does have six knockouts and one submission on his 13-3 career record. The 31-year-old Kazakhstani has only been stopped early once as a professional.
