The San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers will face off in a Madden simulation Saturday at 8 pm ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers ($8,100)

To take down these free tournaments, you are usually best served to hit on a cheaper Captain. The value allows you room to build your team as you want and helps separate you from the crowd. Valdes-Scantling doesn’t have the best matchup, but ten of his 12 touchdowns are at home, where he averages 18.4 yards per reception. He has a decent floor with 11 or more DK points in his last four matchups and some upside as you scroll through his 32 games this simulated season.

Flex options

Tevin Coleman, 49ers ($7,800)

I like Coleman as a Captain as well due to his upside and price, but he will likely have a lot of DK’ers soliciting his services. His upside and consistency are great and he’s done major damage in road games, averaging 18.2 DK points per game. He has 15 touchdowns through 17 road matchups and the Packers are worse against the run than the pass. Hard to pass on him.

Aaron Rodgers, Packers ($11,800)

Looking again at the home/road splits, Rodgers averages 19.6 DK points at home compared to 15.5 on the road. The matchup isn’t great, but he’s coming off a 23 DK points game at home against the Ravens. Going cheap in the Captain’s slot allows us to get Rodgers and I’m going to take advantage of that.

Davante Adams, Packers ($11,000)

Adams has been a beast with 27 or more fantasy points over the last three games. His price is tough if you want Rodgers as well, but it isn’t impossible. I’d likely drop down to Deebo Samuel here if you’d like to have more cash to play with though.
