There will be a trio of MLS is Back Tournament games on Sunday to wrap up a weekend of soccer. Draftkings Sportsbook has the betting splits for each matchup, and we’ll go over the numbers here.
Sporting KC (+145) vs. Minnesota United (+160)
Sporting KC and Minnesota United have both looked offensively dominant this year. Sporting KC has outscored its opponents 11-3 in three games while Minnesota has outscored its opponents 8-3 in two matches. There’s a lot of offense on both sides, but the public favors Sporting KC by a narrow margin.
Sporting KC has 46 percent of the handle to Minnesota’s mark of 42. Sporting KC has a large lead in total bets percentage at 50 though while the underdog clocks in at 23 percent. A sizable chunk of bettors are banking on a tie (+265) though, as 11 percent of the handle and 27 percent of the total bets are on that outcome.
Real Salt Lake (+135) vs. Colorado Rapids (+170)
While Real Salt Lake is winless this year and the Colorado Rapids are undefeated, the public favors Real Salt Lake in this one. The Utah club commands 74 percent of the handle and 40 percent of the total bets. While Colorado has a lesser 25 percent of the handle, it leads with 54 percent of the total bets. Only 1 percent of the handle is on a tie (+270).
Colorado has gotten a goal from four different players in two games while Salt Lake has only scored once in a tie with the New York Red Bulls. Salt Lake was the better team last year, and it appears like bettors think it will turn things around come Sunday. Colorado has shown more this year though.
Toronto FC (-125) vs. DC United (+300)
UPDATE: The match was postponed due to inconclusive Covid tests.
These teams both tallied 50 points last season in the Eastern Conference, but Toronto had the much more explosive offense with 57 goals to DC’s 42. Toronto also gave up a ton of goals though while DC allowed the second fewest goals (38) in the league. Toronto’s firepower makes it the favorite, and it has 72 percent of the handle with 82 percent of the total bets. DC is far behind that with 21 percent of the handle and 12 percent of the total bets though. Games have been fairly close so far, and rust will be a factor. Because of that, there’s plenty of value in betting on a tie (+285) here — especially given DC’s defensive potential. bets on a draw account for 8 percent of the handle and 6 percent of the total bets.
