The Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers will face off in a Madden sim Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings before kickoff.

Captain’s Picks

We’ll actually give Christian McCaffrey ($15,900) a chance in this one. Madden’s best running back usually lets us down, but this is one of the most ideal matchups for him. Cam Newton’s lack of productivity could limit the effectiveness of wideouts, but McCaffrey’s versatility can take advantage of Detroit’s below average defense line and linebacker group.

Luke Kuechly should serve a major run deterrent against the Lions. That being said, Matthew Stafford ($16,800) should be airing it out to Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. frequently. The Panthers’ defensive backs are quick, but I like Stafford’s throwing volume and the size of his receivers.

Flex Men

Carolina doesn’t necessarily have a star receiver, but both Greg Olsen ($8,600) and Curtis Samuel ($7,800) are solid options that won’t break the bank. Olsen is an escape outlet with plenty of red zone scoring potential while Samuel’s speed gives him YAC upside.

J.D. McKissic ($2,800) should fit in fine as running back plug in for the Lions. His value lies in PPR, but don’t expect too much from the RB2 playing behind Kerryon Johnson.
