Update 6:08 p.m.: Ricardo Ramos remains the favorite at -162, and has gotten 73% of handle and 52% of tickets on the money line. Lerone Murphy is a +130 underdog, with 27% of the cash behind him, but 48% of the individual wagers.
Two high-ceiling featherweights face off as Ricardo Ramos takes on Lerone Murphy at UFC on ESPN 13 from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi tonight.
Ramos is 14-2 overall, and 5-1 in the UFC with two stoppage wins. The 24-year-old Brazilian does most of his damage on the mat at a BJJ practitioner, averaging 2.13 takedowns per 15 minutes with 64% accuracy while in the black octagon. This will be his first fight since November 16th of last year, when he defeated Luiz Eduardo Garagorri with a first round rear-naked choke.
Murphy’s only UFC fight was a split decision draw against Zubaira Tukhugov last September, the only blemish on his otherwise 8-0 record. The Stockport, England trains out of the All Powers Gym in that city, and at 28 years of age has a stiff challenge on the way to what would be his first victory in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.
