Tale of the tape for Carlos Felipe vs. Serghei Spivac

It’s always fun to see the big boys battle, and we get a pair of heavyweights in the octagon when newcomer Carlos Felipe takes on Serghei Spivac to lift the lid on UFC Fight Night from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on July 18th. This fight was originally scheduled for UFC 250, but was moved to here via the Covid-19 pandemic.

Felipe is 8-0 in MMA with six stoppages, but has never fought for the same promotion twice. “Boi” is from the state of Bahia, and hasn’t fought in MMA in three years due to a USADA suspension for stanozolol use. He’s been kickboxing, boxing, and jiu-jitsu’ing for money ever since, but his last time in a cage was May of 2017. The UFC dropped him and re-signed him after his suspension ended. He has six KO’s and two decision victories in his career.

Spivac is 10-2 overall with all 10 victories by stoppage, and 1-2 in the UFC. The Moldovan fell via unanimous decision to Marcin Tybura on February 29th in a fight where was dominated statistically. He had six takedowns in eight attempts in his only UFC win over Tai Tuivasa on October 5th of last year.
