DC United and the Montreal Impact will play in a Tuesday night MLS is Back Tournament match at 10:30 p.m. ET. Both sides are looking to get a win and work toward making it out of the group stage, and DraftKings has DFS available for the game. We go over the best Showdown strategies for the below. Set your lineups here.
Captain’s Picks
Saphir Taider ($15,900) scored two goals in his last outing and has played a full 90 minutes in both of the tournament games he’s played inso far. He ranks second in goals (2) for Montreal and is one of five players with at least one assist. He does a little bit of everything, and DC United has been terrible against opposing midfielders.
Julian Gressel ($12,900) might still be awaiting a breakout tournament game, but he has a solid floor and a chance to have a monster performance. He’s sent in 14 crosses over the course of his last two matches. The midfielder tallied eight goals and a team-high 13 assists for Atlanta United last season, so it’s clear that he has the potential to light it up when he gets going.
Flex
Maximiliano Urruti ($12,000) hasn’t done enough to warrant spending $18,000 on, but he does have one of the higher ceilings in the contest. He leads Montreal in goals this year with three and just needs to put a few shots on goal to get going.
Federico Higuain ($8,800) is another flex play to keep an eye on. The super sub has scored two goals off the bench in tournament play on two shots. While he’s only played 31 minutes, he’s been highly productive. Playing him can give you significant variance in your lineup if he comes off the pine again, as he won’t be a very popular option.
