The Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars will face off in a rainy Madden sim Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. ET as part of wacky weather Wednesday. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings before kickoff.
Captain’s Picks
The conditions might not the best in this one, but Matt Ryan ($15,900) is too skilled to be affected by them drastically. Ryan is one of the highest rated quarterbacks in the game, and you get the best of him, Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones, and others by captaining him. It’s unlikely that he won’t but up quality numbers against Jacksonville’s poorly equipped secondary.
I don’t have the same faith in Gardner Minshew, so Leonard Fournette ($12,300) is probably the best captain’s option the Jaguars have to offer. He has power, speed, and contributes more through the air in simulations than he does in real life. You could also make a case for D.J. Chark ($12,900), but I’d just the better skill player in this instance.
Flex Men
Russell Gage ($4,800) has proven to be dangerous out of the slot and one of the cheaper options that can get you double-digits in DKFP. His upside isn’t as high as either of the starters, but but his floor is high for a player of his caliber. James O’Shaughnessy ($5,800) doesn’t have top-notch skill ratings, but gets the job done. He’s often in the right place at the right time and could see more work than usual given that long routes could be hard for wideouts to execute in the rain.
