Rain in forecast for Saturday, Sunday at 3M Open

We break down the weather forecast for this week’s 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota. The weekend could have some thunderstorms.

Caddyshack rain

The PGA Tour is headed into the weekend for the 3M Open with Michael Thompson and Richy Werenski tied atop the leaderboard after 36 holes. They’ll be the final pairing on Saturday, but when they tee off could get a little hazy.

The tournament has gone off without a problem through the first two rounds, but Saturday and Sunday could bring some ran and thunderstorms. There is a chance for isolated thunderstorms as early as 8 a.m. and scattered thunderstorms throughout most of the day. On Sunday, there is a chance of AM thunderstorms.

The chance of precipitation never exceeds 50 percent for either day, but it’s still worth noting. The tournament could move up some of the tee times if there is concern about when thunderstorms might hit. Or, they simply roll the dice and hope they get the third round in before the rain picks up. We’ll keep an eye out as Saturday gets underway.
