We break down ideal picks for Sunday’s Braves-Mets matchup.

The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets will play Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. The teams will face off for the second time this year, and DraftKings will have Showdown DFS contests available for the matchup. We break down the ideal lineup strategy below, and you can play here.

Captain’s Picks

Freddie Freeman, 1B, Braves: $14,100

So far this season, Freeman has faced Jacob deGrom and lefty Steven Matz, both tough matchups for the lefty. Tonight he’ll take on righty Rick Porcello, who has a career 1.41 WHIP against lefties and last season allowed a .346 wOBA against hitters from the left side of the plate. Freeman is also a stud against righties, hitting a grat .400 wOBA, and .249 ISO against them over the last three seasons.

Utility Picks

Matt Adams, 1B, Braves: $5,400

Adams got the DH spot on Opening Day and batted fifth against Jacob deGrom. Adams did nothing in that game, but no Braves had a chance as deGrom and company K’d them 15 times on a three-hitter. But, the lefty Adams will get an easier matchup with Porcello tonight and as long as he gets the DH spot and fifth in the lineup, he’s hard to pass at his price.

Wilson Ramos, C, Mets: $4,800

The Braves will give the lefty Sean Newcomb the ball to start this game. He likely will be eased in with a pitch count though, so we could see many pitchers for the Braves depending on how things go. Ramos has always hit lefties well, hitting a .358 wOBA and .357 OBP for his career. In 123 at bats last season, he had a .423 OBP and .396 wOBA against southpaws.

J.D. Davis, OF/3B, Mets: $6,600

Davis put together a strong 2019, and had a .378 wOBA against left-handed pitchers. He batted out of the two-hole against a lefty on Friday and out of the seven against a righty on Saturday. If he can get into that two-hole again, I like him in this matchup against Newcomb and company.
