JR Smith, Dion Waiters boost Lakers to win over Wizards in scrimmage

We recap the scrimmage between Los Angeles and Washington from the NBA bubble, providing a quick recap, stats and a few takeaways.

Monday’s scrimmage between the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards was a close one. Los Angeles held out LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kyle Kuzma for this one, so Washington was able to remain competitive for most of the game. Lakers role players put together a well-rounded outing to claim a 123-116 victory in the end though.

The Wizards also could significant contributions from a group of players and were led by Shabazz Napier. Seven of their players tallied double-digits in points, but but having Bradley Beal hurt them en route to an 0-3 scrimmage record. The Lakers, on the other hand, have improved to 2-1 ahead of the NBA restart. Here are some of the top performers from the game.

J.R. Smith: 20 points, 5 rebounds
Alex Caruso: 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
Danny Green: 13 points, 2 steals

Washington Wizards stats

Rui Hachimura: 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists
Troy Brown Jr.: 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Ish Smith: 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
Shabazz Napier: 16 points, 4 assists
