Tale of the tape for Joanne Calderwood vs. Jennifer Maia

Flyweights Joanne Calderwood and Jennifer Maia square off in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night Saturday from Las Vegas. We break down the odds.

Two Top-10 ranked women’s flyweights are the penultimate fight on the card at UFC Fight Night this Saturday when Joanne Calderwood takes on Jennifer Maia live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.

Calderwood wants a shot at Valentina Shevchenko and the title, but she’ll need to get past Maia here. “Jojo” is 14-4 in MMA, with a UFC record of 6-4, and is one of the most active fighters on the roster. She lands 6.19 significant strikes per minute with 47% accuracy, and also averages 1.85 takedowns per bout. The 33-year-old from Glasgow, Scotland doesn’t possess a ton of stoppage power, with just five KO’s and one submission in her career. But she’s a dream for DFS players anyway because of how she fights.

Maia owns a 17-6-1 record with a UFC mark of 2-2. All four of her fights since reaching the promotion have gone the distance, including her loss to Katlyn Chookagian, the only common opponent for both fighters in this bout. She lands 4.05 strikes per minute, but has only attempted one takedown in the promotion in her 60 minutes of fight time.
