The Detroit Lions and New York Giants will face off in a Friday Madden sim at 2:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contests centered around the game. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings.

Captain’s Picks

I think you’ll have to keep up with the Joneses to be successful in this Madden sim. Both sides have a Jones that could be ideal captain’s picks, and I’ll break down who they are here. I’m always going to been an advocate for picking quarterbacks against the Lions, and Daniel Jones ($15,900) has the kind of versatile receiving corps that could help him dominate Detroit’s secondary through the air.

The Lions top Jones is Marvin Jones Jr. ($11,100). Although he’s a WR2, he consistently returns more value than Kenny Golladay. Neither side’s defensive backs should have shutdown defensive backs, so expect both sides to air it out. Detroit’s lack of a ground game could cause them to throw more though.

Flex Men

Saquon Barkley ($9,000) is a player with high upside regardless of opponent and will be involved on the ground and through the air. I’d flex him because while he has a high ceiling, there’s a ton of room for other big performances. Flexibility will be key in this one. J.D. McKissic ($3,000) could very well be the best bargain play available. He’s often more productive than Kerryon Johnson and steals reps from the starter on third down.
