The betting public is expecting a close but high scoring contest between the Jazz and Pelicans on opening night. We break down the splits at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The NBA returns Thursday evening and tips off with some young guns! The Utah Jazz face the New Orleans Pelicans on TNT, with tip scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Zion Williamson is expected to play in the restart opener, but his game status remains a question due to his previous absence from the bubble. There is a chance of a minutes limit, but we may not know until he gets out on the court. The Jazz are expected to be full go, ideally without any lingering issues between Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

The Pelicans are a 2.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and -136 money line to win outright. The Jazz are +114, with the game point total installed at 225.

We’ve got a look at some game-day betting splits, and it would appear the public expects a relatively close game. 57 percent of total bets and handle are on the Pelicans to win outright, but there is a split on the spread. 60 percent of total bets are on New Orleans, while 56 percent of the total handle is on Utah. Bettors are expecting a high scoring game, with 69 percent of bets and 77 percent of handle on the over.
