A veteran bantamweight serves as gatekeeper for a UFC newcomer as Ray Borg takes on Nate Maness at UFC Fight Night this Saturday in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex arena.
Borg is 13-5, 7-5 in the UFC. Since he was submitted by armbar in the fifth round of his championship fight against Demetrious Johnson in October of 2017, he’s 2-2 with all four fights going to a decision. “The Tazmexican Devil” has fought once since the Covid-19 break, a split decision loss to Ricky Simon on May 13th. He’s a grappling specialist with 3.89 takedowns per 15 minutes with a 50% accuracy rate, and six career submission in his 13 career wins.
Maness opens his UFC account with an 11-1 record mostly out of the Hard Rock MMA and TKO Major League MMA. He has six career stoppages, and the 29-year-old from Morganfield, Kentucky goes by the nickname “Mayhem.” Here’s his highlight video, you can make that assessment if it fits.
