The opening fight of UFC on ESPN 14 this Saturday has a bantamweight on a win streak facing a newcomer to the promotion as Chris Gutierrez takes on Cody Durden live from UFC on ESPN 14 in Las Vegas.
Gutierrez is 3-1 in the UFC, and 15-4 overall. He got his first promotion stoppage win via leg kicks in the second round against Vince Morales in Jacksonville on May 30th. “El Guapo” averages 4.17 strikes per minute of octagon time, and only has one completed takedown in his promotion career. He fights out of Jersey City, New Jersey and the Factory X gym.
Durden makes his debut with an 11-2 record, and enters on a streak of seven straight stoppage wins on the independent circuit. Fighting most recently out of the National Fighting Championship promotion, the Covington, Georgia native has 10 stoppages in his 11 victories, five KO’s and five submissions.
